Students from the Tracy Montessori School attend ELIXIR OF LOVE, Nov. 2022

Livermore Valley Opera (LVO) is committed to increasing student access to world-class opera experiences while deepening students’ engagement with the art form. LVO’s Education Engagement Program initiatives aim to foster new opera audiences, revitalize the field of arts education, and ensure the longevity of opera and the performing arts in the Tri-Valley and beyond.

LVO reaches over 10,000 Tri-Valley elementary school students annually, by offering a live 45-minute performance presented free of charge. For the 2023-2024 school year, LVO will present a performance of Mozart’s delightful The Magic Flute.

The Education Engagement Program provides free resources to support performances for elementary school students and educators. Additionally, LVO strives to extend its reach to older students by presenting 45-minute Master Classes twice yearly both to Tri-Valley middle and high school choruses as well as to music department students attending local community colleges, all free of charge.

Students and educators alike welcome the opportunity that Master Classes can offer. During these sessions, opera singers provide professional coaching to enhance students’ performance skills and also give unique insights into the life of an artist.

All Tri-Valley students participating in these Education Engagement programs are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal of the Spring opera production at the Bankhead Theater. There is no charge for students and any adult chaperones to attend this dress rehearsal performance which is held on the Thursday evening prior to opening night at 7:30pm.

For the full opera performances, LVO offers a special ticket price offer of $20 each for students, age 20 years or younger and $40 each for any adults ages 21-40.

If you are interested in bringing Livermore Valley Opera’s artists to perform or conduct a Master Class at your school, please contact Dr. Pamela Rigg, Director of Education & Community Engagement.

We look forward to sharing these enriching opera performances with your students!
