Livermore Valley Opera Auditions
Established in 1992, Livermore Valley Opera has been a leading producer of world-class opera in the Tri-Valley region, and all opera performances are held at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore. This gem of a theater features an intimate 500-seat setting, with excellent lines of sight and acoustics, helping LVOpera to attract talented singers and stage directors. LVOpera presents two full-scale opera productions per season, in spring and fall, and all auditions for the entire season are held once per year.

Suor Angelica (October 3, 4, 10, 11, 2026):Puccini’s intimate, one-act masterpiece. A story of faith, motherhood, and a heartbreakingly beautiful sacrifice. We are looking for female voices capable of both delicate nuance and powerful emotional release.

La Fanciulla del West (February 27, 28, March 6, 7, 2027):The “Girl of the Golden West” returns to the very soil where her story began! This Puccini epic features a fearless saloon owner, a wanted outlaw, and some of the most thrilling, cinematic music ever written for the stage. We need a very strong men’s chorus to help bring this adventure alive.

Preparation & Requirements

Audition Piece: Please prepare one Aria or Art Song in Italian, if possible. Given the season, having at least one Puccini or Verismo selection is highly encouraged.

Materials: While bringing a physical copy of your current headshot and performance resume is not necessary, it will help us with our decision making process.

Accompanist: A professional accompanist will be provided. Please ensure your music is in a binder and clearly marked for the pianist.
How to Apply
The Livermore Valley Opera will hold auditions, March 5, 2026, for the
smaller roles in SUOR ANGELICA (Sept/Oct. 2026) and FANCIULLA DEL WEST
(Feb./Mar. 2027).
The auditions will take place at the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music, between 6:30-10PM.
