Amahl And The Night Visitors

Amahl and the Night Visitors, December 2012

by Gian Carlo Menotti
December 8th at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

LVO is pleased to produce the opera Amahl and the NightVisitors for the Christmas season in collaboration with the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore.

Amahl, a poor, crippled boy who lives with his widowed mother, is visited one evening by three kings, who are following the Star of the East to Bethlehem and stop for shelter at their home. Inspired by the tale of a kingdom “built on love alone,” Amahl offers his own simple gift to the Christ Child. The story ends with a miracle sure to
warm the hearts of all!
