Please attend a special FREE outreach program by Livermore Valley Opera to be held at Inklings Coffee & Tea shop in Pleasanton on Friday evening, March 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The performance will be given in the large “common room” adjacent to the main coffee shop. This venue has a stage, lighting and seating for up to 120. Address is 530 Main St. in downtown Pleasanton.
Many of the principal singers from our upcoming production of Mozart’s famous opera, “The Marriage of Figaro” will perform selections from this opera, other operas and music theater songs. Also, instrumentalists from the LVO opera orchestra will perform some chamber music arrangements of opera excerpts.
The talented artists performing at Inklings Coffee will include baritone Efrain Solis (Figaro), soprano Lacy Sauter (Countess), soprano Christie Conover (Susanna), mezzo- soprano Kristen Choi (Cherubino) and tenor Jonathan Orenberg (Don Curzio). Karen Veca, principal flutist and Gary Sears, principal clarinetist, both from the LVO opera orchestra, will perform as well. Frank Johnson is the piano accompanist.
The singers are outstanding, young professional artists with highly successful careers already established. Many have performed in major opera houses including San Francisco Opera, Opera San Jose, Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Festival in New York, Minnesota Opera, and many other companies both nationally and internationally. Several have graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and one is an alumnus of the Merola Opera Program and a recent Adler fellow. Several of these singers have placed highly in regional auditions conducted by the Metropolitan Opera.
